In these interviews I learned about many different people and the jobs that they had. Some jobs were even deadly like the one from Mr. Garavelli. He was a stonecutter and he said that many people died of silica. It also talks about how some men couldnt get hired just because they were African American. I dont think things shouldve been like that back then. One of the interviews asks if rich people have anything in common with poor people. One persons response was that they have nothing in common but the air that they breath. Some people had to throw rent-parties just to raise money to pay the rent. Another interview talked about how women would get together and have quilt parties. Another interview talks about how a woman was a maid and someone put a five dollar bill on the table next to the bed she was making just to test her and see if she would steal it. She said no matter how smart or honest you looked they were still always testing you. These interviews were interesting because it taught me about some of the jobs back then and how life was for people.
